Recovery & Leg Support

Warm-up and cool-down routines, clay versus gel, and competition timing.

See the range
Which product should I use, and when?

Think of it as your horse's warm-up and cool-down. Before you ride, massage in Warm Up Lotion for a gentle warming feel while you tack up. After work, reach for Cool Down Gel when you want something quick and tidy, Kaolin Poultice Clay for a classic clay finish on the legs, or Ice Shower to freshen up the whole horse on a hot day.

Cool Down Gel or Kaolin Poultice Clay — which is right for me?

Both are post-work favorites, they just suit different days. Cool Down Gel massages in in seconds, needs no rinsing and lives happily in your show bag. Kaolin Poultice Clay is the old-school ritual: a thick layer on the legs, wrapped if you like, then rinsed or brushed off once dry. Plenty of our riders use the gel at shows and the clay at home after a big session.

How do I use Ice Shower?

It's our summer hero. Add 25 ml to a bucket of 4–5 litres of water and sponge it over the neck, back, quarters and legs straight after work. No rinsing needed, so the cool, fresh feeling lasts — and there's no sticky residue.

Can I bandage over Kaolin Poultice Clay?

Absolutely. It goes on wet or dry legs and can be wrapped. Once it's dry, rinse or brush it off.

Do I need to rinse off Cool Down Gel?

No — that's the beauty of it. Massage a thin layer in against the hair, leave it to absorb, and you're done. It works on wet legs too.

What's best for an Australian summer?

Our Summer Recovery Kit brings together Cool Down Gel, Ice Shower and Kaolin Poultice Clay — everything you need to keep your horse feeling fresh after work in the heat.

Can I use these products before a competition?

Great question, and one every competitive rider should ask. Rules differ between disciplines, so check the current FEI list and your discipline's rules for each product.

All cooling products are 100% dope free. However the Warm-Up Gel does contain Camphor, we recommend not to use it for 3 days prior to competition to ensure it has completely cleared your horse's system before arriving at the venue. All our recovery products are for clean, unbroken skin.

Where are recovery, nutrition and grooming products being made?

All other nutritional supplements, grooming and recovery products are manufactured for Equigenix by the OVER Group, an award-winning leading Polish manufacturer and exporter of care products and dietary supplements for livestock and companion animals. All factories are fully accredited to GMP+ level (GMP049556 and EU Veterinary manufacturer No. PL 1003002p)— this level of certification combines Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO quality management standards specifically for the animal feed sector.

It ensures safety at every stage, from raw material sourcing to transport and final delivery, reducing the risk of contamination (e.g., Salmonella, heavy metals). See the range
What makes Equigenix supplements different?

Every formula is made in Europe with premium ingredients and chosen by our veterinarian, Dr Noam Pik, and our team of trainers and riders. We look for clear ingredient lists, sensible feeding rates and formulas that slip easily into a busy yard routine — the kind of products we feed our own horses.

Who is Gastro Balance for?

Horses that work hard, travel often, or have high grain component in their diet — the everyday life of most performance horses. Gastro Balance is a plant-based feed with sea buckthorn, herbs and calcium that supports normal stomach health. Feed 50 g morning and evening for a 500 kg horse (ponies: 10 g per 100 kg, twice daily) with the scoop included.

Why do riders choose Max-Flex Gold?

Because it puts glucosamine, chondroitin, collagen, MSM and a full vitamin package into one easy liquid. No fuss: shake, measure 30 ml (15 ml for ponies) and mix it into feed. It's a daily joint supplement built for horses in regular work.

Max-Flex Gold or Flex Senior?

Max-Flex Gold is the everyday all-rounder for working horses. Flex Senior is a herbal liquid with willow bark and devil's claw, designed for older and hard-working horses that need extra support for normal mobility. It's fed in 8-week courses with a 3-week break, and we always suggest a quick chat with your vet before you start. Note 5 day withholding period for FEI competitors.

Can I feed Flex Senior to a horse that competes?

Yes, with planning. Flex Senior contains ingredients that aren't allowed in competition, so stop at least 5 days before you compete and check withdrawal times with your vet.

How does Breathe Well work into my routine?

It's a herbal liquid with a simple 30-day plan: 50 ml a day for the first 10 days, then 25 ml a day for 20 days (500 kg horse). Mix it into feed. Check with your vet before starting a course.

Can I feed several Equigenix supplements together?

Our range is designed to work together, so most horses can have more than one. Just look at the whole diet — especially vitamins A and D — and if your horse is on medication or a vet-managed plan, run it past your vet.

What are Nutri-Treats?

Pocket-sized forest-fruit rewards that don't crumble in your jacket. Made from wheat bran, cereals and linseed, they're perfect after a good ride. Up to 0.5 kg a day; count them in the diet of horses on low-starch plans.

Natural Grooming

Leave-in conditioners, detangling sprays and coat finishes.

See the range
Glow Up or Mane & Tail Feed Conditioner — which do I need?

Why not both? Most of our riders keep the pair. Mane & Tail Feed Conditioner is the everyday leave-in that keeps hair soft, glossy and static-free between washes. Glow Up is your show-day secret: a grape-scented detangling spray that lets the comb glide through and leaves a mirror shine.

How do I tackle a really knotted tail?

Work Glow Up through the tangle with your hands, give it a few minutes to dry, then comb from the ends up. The knots slide out with far less pulling — and less hair left in the brush.

Will Glow Up help between classes?

Yes. Its smooth finish helps mud and arena dust brush straight out, so a quick flick of the brush keeps your horse ring-ready all day.

How do I get the best sparkle from Glitter Up?

Start with a clean, dry coat. Shake well and mist from about 20 cm, building the shimmer in light passes until it's just right. Let it set before plaiting or tacking up. Choose Golden, Silver or Unicorn to suit your horse and your colours — and enjoy the fruity papaya scent.

Can I use Glitter Up in the show ring?

It's a favourite for photos, parades and fun days. For competitions, check your event's rules on coat and hoof finishes first.

How do I use Hoof Glitter Up?

Brush it onto a clean, dry hoof wall from coronet band to toe for a golden, light-catching finish with a tropical mango-papaya scent. Give it a few minutes to dry before your horse heads onto bedding or into the arena.

Are the grooming products gentle enough for sensitive horses?

They're made for regular use. If your horse has sensitive skin, try a small patch first. Keep sprays away from the eyes and nose.

Ointment or spray?

Choose the ointment for small spots you can reach easily. The spray is brilliant for legs, larger areas or anywhere you'd rather not touch — and it's silent, so even nervous horses stay relaxed. Use either 1–2 times a day on a clean area.

What should I do if my horse has a cut?

Can I use Vetramil on my other animals?

Yes — it's suitable for horses, dogs and other animals, so one tube covers the whole household.

How do I use Cabi Liquid Forte?

It comes in handy single-use ampoules for precise, mess-free hoof care. Pick out and dry the hoof, snip the tip and apply into the clefts of the frog as part of your regular hoof routine. Your farrier or vet is the best person to ask about any hoof concern.

05

Gut Microbiome

Sampling, where the analysis happens and what your report shows.

See the range
Why test my horse's gut?

The greatest athletes on the track and the gentlest hacking partners share the exact same secret: their strength, stamina, and spirit are fueled by their gut microbes. The community of bacteria living in each horse gut is different and unique. Our test shows you exactly who's in there — so instead of guessing which diet is most effective and which supplement might suit, you and your vet can make choices based on your own horse's gut environment.

What will my report show?

We sequence the bacterial DNA in a manure sample and turn it into a clear, easy-to-read report: The key segments include a Metabolic Engine score, a Performance Resilience / Capacity, its microbial balance, and its metabolic profile. It's designed to be shared with your vet. You can view a sample report on this page.

Is it hard to collect a sample?

Not at all — no needles, no vet visit. Collect a fresh manure sample at home with the kit, seal it and post it back to our office in Victoria. It takes about five minutes.

Who analyses it, and how fast are results?

Your sample is analysed at the Translational Genomics Facility, a state-of-the-art research hub located within the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) at Aberystwyth University in Wales, United Kingdom.

Your report lands in your inbox and the Equigenix portal within 3-5 weeks from sample receipt at our Australian office.

What happens after I get my results?

This is where it gets exciting. With your vet or nutritionist, choose from our gut range — Fibre & Resilience, Gut Restoration, Metabolic Regulator or Antioxidant Balance — and set a feeding rate that fits your horse's report. Retest after the program to see what's changed.

You can reach out to us to schedule a time to talk about the report with our veterinarian and microbiologist, additional fees may apply.

Do I need the test to buy the gut supplements?

No, every product can be bought on its own. But the test takes the guesswork out, and seeing your horse's second report is half the fun.

Can I feed the gut range with my horse's usual feed?

Yes. Mix it straight into the feed and introduce it gradually over a few days. If your horse is on medication or a vet-managed diet, check with your vet first.
