The science behind the shelf

This kit is honey-based skin care plus a targeted hoof treatment: Vetramil uses honey rich in natural enzymes with essential oils for irritated and damaged skin, while Cabi Liquid Forte delivers copper and zinc chelates with lactic and acetic acid into the clefts of a thrushy hoof.

Honey enzymes & low pH

Vetramil Ointment contains honey with a high level of natural enzymes. The enzymes and honey's low pH help keep the skin clean and support its own recovery capacity on rough, irritated or damaged areas.

Antioxidant soothing

The antioxidants naturally present in honey are soothing for sensitive and reddened skin, and the added essential oils help maintain healthy skin condition.

Spray for sore areas

Vetramil Spray reaches awkward sites such as the lower leg, forms a thin long-lasting protective layer, and applies silently so the horse is not startled on a painful spot.

Thrush chemistry

Cabi Liquid Forte pairs chelated copper and zinc with organic acids (lactic, acetic) to reduce the bacteria driving putrefactive thrush, in ampoules that place the liquid precisely into the cleft.

Stable protocol

How our vets recommend using this range

01

Clean the area

Restrain the horse safely and clean the skin or hoof, drying it thoroughly before anything is applied. Keep all products away from eyes and mucous membranes.

02

Treat the skin

Apply Vetramil Ointment to rough, irritated or damaged skin. On sensitive, hard-to-reach or touch-shy areas, use Vetramil Spray instead to lay down a protective layer without contact.

03

Treat the hoof

For thrush, cut the ampoule tip off Cabi Liquid Forte, insert it into the cleaned and dried cleft and press the contents in. Repeat daily until the hoof improves.
